Pierson | Knight Wedding
It was our great pleasure to coordinate a wedding for one of our very own this past September. One of our coordinators, Alexandra, married her high school sweetheart Stefan by his family’s home in South Hero, on the shores of Lake Champlain. These two were destined for each other, evident by her heartfelt vows. She described meeting Stefan in her high school chemistry class and that before long, she was focused on a different kind of chemistry. Needless to say, these two soon fell in love and the rest was history.
Alexandra looked positively radiant walking down the aisle towards Stefan, led by their dog Tucker. Her dress was modern with a sheer lace overlay and her stunning golden curls were swept to one side, tucked back by a beautiful comb. Her bridesmaids were dressed in forest green and the men were in beige suits, a lovely neutral color palette that represented the couple’s relaxed personalities. The ceremony was officiated by one of their good friends, was short, but very sweet. They incorporated a tying of the knot ritual into their ceremony, triumphantly raising it above their heads to show off their happy union. Sealed with a kiss, the couple, to the cheers of their friends, walked back up the aisle and over to the dock where a boat for two was waiting to take them across the lake. Their send-off was picture perfect, all of their family and friends waving and seeing them off before heading over the reception site on the other side of the lake. Alexandra and Stefan were truly full of joy in this moment, apparent by their beaming smiles.
Back at the reception site, the sun was starting to set over the cornfield where the tent was set up, casting a warm glow on the field. Guests enjoyed exploring this beautiful field, playing outdoor games including corn hole and Ladder-ball during the cocktail hour as well as taking walks down to the shore. A delicious smell from the barbeque lingered in the air, a perfect evening to say goodbye to summer.
At last the couple arrived, and the celebration began. The couple shared their first dance, then joined their family and friends to finish out the cocktail hour. Before long, the dinner was served, and the couple took their seats at a stunning sweetheart table set apart from the rest by the birch trees behind it. Their table, as well as all the rest, were filled with candles and lanterns, providing a romantic ambiance for the night. Alexandra and Stefan looked right at home celebrating with their beloved friends and family.
Many people were so moved by the couple’s strength that a few of the speeches were not planned, a true testament to their love and devotion. The couple shared many laughs, sweet smiles, and some happy tears with their friends and family, taking in the overwhelming amount of love and support, shared memories and words of advice. A highlight of the night was the bridal party’s performance of a song and dance for the couple, a fun surprise for not only the guests but the couple as well!
Alexandra and Stefan, their friends and family, (and Tucker, too!) all celebrated well into the night. Et Cetera was honored to be a part of such a joyous occasion and wish the two of them all of the happiness in the world.
