Snyder | Gray Wedding
A few weeks prior to Aaron Snyder and Carolyn Gray saying their “I Do’s” I received a phone call from Nancy, Aarons mother who was in need of a last minute event planner. The woman they had hired, had family business to take care of, and they were looking for someone to step in and take care of the last minute items that needed tending to. This included day of execution, after party planning, timeline distribution and coordination of transportation and welcome bags. Nancy was one of the most wonderful women I have worked with. She and her husband Marc were people who anyone would want as mentors and family friends. Both successful and hard working, they managed to maintain an enviable family dynamic. One thing I noticed about the Snyder’s was they were always laughing. Marc and Nancy made 27 years of marriage look like a breeze, and proved to be great role models for Aaron and Carolyn.
With two weeks of planning time to go, together, Nancy and I coordinated everything that was left on the to-do list. When the day came, everything went incredibly smoothly. The ladies woke up early to get their makeup and hair done at their suite in Sugarbush at the Claybrook. With the snow falling, and everyone in great moods, Afterglow went to work and got everyone ready for the big day. Classic Limo from Shelburne arrived with their beautiful 1950’s limos to take everyone to The Round Barn in Waitsfield, Vermont where we worked with Lisa Hoogenboom and Becky Greene to create the most magical day for the family. The couple chose deep plum, and burnt orange for their color scheme and it looked extremely elegant in the dimly lit barn. The ceremony took place downstairs, under a birch arbor with all of their family and friends watching. Stacey at Blue Toad Florist was extremely accommodating, opening her shop early so I could pick up the bouquets and corsages for the ladies, and deliver the boutonnieres to the men. She decorated the ceremony so delicately and left in just enough time for the guests to be impressed as they sat down waiting for the wedding party to enter. Aaron and Carolyns cantor flew in last minute from California and delivered the perfect anecdotes to introduce the couples nuptials.
Upstairs, the incredible staff at the Round Barn helped to create an incredibly warm and inviting atmosphere. With candles everywhere, lights on the banisters, and purple and orange accents scattered across the room, guests filled the air with laughter, and Peak Entertainment filled the room with the perfect music to mingle to. The evening was followed by hilarious introductions, heart-warming speeches and a beautiful first dance. Christian Arthur Photography captured all of the special moments. The food the couple chose for the evening was very eclectic, and The Round Barn did all of the catering, even down to the mini pies for dessert!
The guests said goodbye, and made their way to the Big Picture Theatre for their after-party, as our team cleaned up the venue. From what I hear, the after party was a hit, and I know I speak for my team when I say that working with Lisa and Becky was a delight. The Snyder’s were dream clients, and I wish Aaron and Carolyn all the best of luck in their (bound to be) happy marriage!
